Positive Negative is an annual publication created by the joint editorial design and photography class at the Rochester Institute of Technology. This issue of Positive Negative was published in 2010 under the Art Directors K. Nicole Murtaugh and Kacie Desmond. In addition to having these three spreads published in the magazine, I also took on the role of co-design director with classmate Sean Manchee. Together, Sean and I were responsible for establishing the grid for the magazine as well as making typographic choices throughout the magazine.

Inspired by The Whole Earth Catalog, Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish removes a 1969 Time article on The Whole Earth Catalog from its original context and bring it into the present. I utilized kitch design elements like Cooper Black Oblique and small (but noticeable) typographic errors to pay homage to the grassroots original. Photography by Ariana Gomez.
