It does not always translate to Textiles....you need to step into the world of pattern, fashion, interiors for a little while to get a feel. These are too static for textiles. Let go of your graphic design schooling when you design pattern...I've been doing textiles for 12 years. A lot of successful textile/pattern designers are illustrators or painters. They don't think "graphically" all the time..so they are not as rigid. Good Luck! you have a real talent with graphic design. Fri, 18 Jun 2010 16:16:54 +0000 http://nataliejmroczka.com/weblog/?p=110#comment-159 this made me laugh; I bought a hideous striped skirt on sale once; I bought some black RIT dye and dyed the skirt and it wore it for years afterward. you could barely see the stripes; it was kind of a tone on tone thing. also: I dyed a silk scarf once and gave it to my step mother and she loves it and I'm wearing a black dress this weekend to Lydia's wedding, but it's a barn/country thing so I'm going to have to add color somehow. this made me laugh; I bought a hideous striped skirt on sale once; I bought some black RIT dye and dyed the skirt and it wore it for years afterward. you could barely see the stripes; it was kind of a tone on tone thing.
